On April 8th, 2011 road to zzyzx officially opened with a reception for Warren's friends and family. I was hoping to take a lot of photos that night but got distracted talking to all of his friends. The next day my father, my friend Coleen and I went back to the gallery and spent a few hours there. I am so glad that the RJ chose Left of Center gallery. It is the perfect space for his work. Along with his photographs, letters hang written to Warren by loved ones. We poured our hearts into the letters telling him exactly how his suicide has affected us personally. The mixture of the letters along with his photographs and the music that is played in the background gives a sense of lonlieness that seems to fit the way he died. At the same time there is immense beauty. Beauty in his work and beauty in the person Warren was.
